Wine and Hors-d'oeuvres Meetup
By Diversity Wine Club. For LGBT + Allies.
From the hosts: Maybe if you drink plenty of good wine you can stay happily partnered for 25 years. Join Paul Skierczynski and Eric Baiz at their home as they celebrate being a couple for a quarter century. Then, ten years ago, on June 18, 2008, the 3rd-day gay marriage was legal in California, they got married in San Francisco. There is likely no other gay couple in Indian with an older dated, legal US marriage certificate.
Eric's brother has a vineyard next door to their home on Long Island where the favorite varietals are Merlot, Cab Franc, oak and steel barrel Chardonnay.
Eric & Paul have been leaders in the gay community in Indiana in their continuous leadership positions of Fellowship Indy, the largest and oldest gay social organization in Indiana. Eric has been a real estate broker with F.C. Tucker for almost 26 years and Paul is one of the Indianapolis Monthly's "Top Docs" specializing in Endocrinology. When not drinking wine, their favorite things are traveling, gardening and swimming. It will be fun.
See you there!
What To Bring
A bottle of your favorite wine to share ($10 - $20 ish range). White, Red or anything in between.
Hors-d'oeuvre to share with 4+ people; bring serving utensils.
We take a very broad definition of Hors-d'oeuvres - anything that goes with wine.
Sweet or savory
Appetizers or finger food
Heavy or light
Hot or cold
Fancy or simple
Doesn't everything go with wine? Yes - it's your choice!
Homemade is always preferred. If store-bought, please transfer to your own dish (keeping it classy).
DWC supplies acrylic wine glasses, metal silverware forks, plastic plates (all reusable, so don’t recycle or throw them away) & napkins.
We are intentionally welcoming and wildly inclusive.
Please bring your Significant Other and friends - even last minute guests are welcome.
The meetup is upscale but the dress is casual.
We don't put a private home's address on the world wide web - that's just creepy.
The city and zip are shown so you can get an idea where it is.
The exact address is immediately emailed to you after you Register.
Registration is not open yet. Our emailed newsletter INVITE announces registration to all meetups; registration usually begins the first weekend of the month of the meetup.
Add BobDay@DiversityWine.Club to your contacts to keep INVITE out of the dreaded SPAM folder.
