Be a Remarkable Host

Thank you for considering opening your home for a memorable and impactful Diversity Wine Club Event.

Whether you've hosted Events before or are a first-timer eager to contribute to the cause, this comprehensive guide will help create an environment where inclusivity, laughter, and meaningful conversations flourish.

From logistical considerations like parking and check-in to creating the right atmosphere with food and drink, we've got you covered.

Creating a Safe and Welcoming Space

As the gracious host of a Diversity Wine Club Event, we warmly encourage you to invite your friends, neighbors, business associates, and employees to join the festivities. Everyone is welcome in this inclusive environment, irrespective of their sexual orientation—be they straight or a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

Host Essentials: What You Need to Provide

Your contributions set the stage for an unforgettable gathering. To ensure that your guests have a smooth and enjoyable experience, please make sure to provide the following:

  • A welcoming, clean, and well-organized home with sufficient parking options.

  • A generous supply of ice to keep white wines perfectly chilled.

  • A variety of non-alcoholic refreshments, including but not limited to bottled water, Coca-Cola products, La Croix, flavored seltzer waters, and Spindrift.

You help create a comfortable, inclusive environment that encourages open dialogue, laughter, and meaningful connections by offering these essentials. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to fostering inclusivity.

Wine Event Guidelines and Responsibilities

At each wine Event, attendees are encouraged to contribute wine and food, making it a true community affair. Due to liability concerns, neither the Diversity Wine Club (DWC) nor the host can supply wine for the event. Rest assured, our gatherings are known for their ample provisions, so there's always more than enough wine.

Similarly, there's no need for the host to prepare food, as the pitch-in model ensures a plentiful spread for all guests to enjoy.

To assist you in the preparation, DWC volunteers will arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to the Event to help with setup and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Understanding Attendee Limits and Amenities

Ticket Purchases: Attendance is by ticket only—direct guests to the Events Page to secure their spot.

Attendance Cap: Diversity Wine Club limits the number of attendees. Once this threshold is reached, additional guests will be placed on a waiting list.

Supplied Amenities: To make hosting more effortless, DWC provides essential items such as wine glasses, forks, plates, paper napkins, name tags, and an ice bucket for white wines.

Safety, Convenience, and Fun

Ensuring guests' safety, convenience, and fun is critical to a memorable gathering. From thoughtful parking solutions to a smooth check-in process, every detail counts. This guide aims to walk you through all you need to know for hosting a hassle-free event that entertains and contributes positively to the community.

Parking Considerations for a Smooth Event Experience

Ensuring convenient and safe parking is crucial for a successful Event. Ideally, ample street parking near your home should be available for all attendees. If alternative parking options are necessary, please inform us at least a month before so we can communicate this information and your address to guests. Locations deemed unsafe or requiring extensive walking are unsuitable for Event hosting.

  • Default Parking: Unless specified otherwise, we will assume that street parking near your home is available and appropriate.

  • Condo Parking: If you're hosting in a condo with specific parking areas, please provide a straightforward, hand-drawn map indicating these spaces for guest use.

  • Houses on Busy Streets: Should your home be located on a busy thoroughfare, and you've coordinated with local police to establish a pedestrian corridor, make sure it is well-lit to ensure the safety of attendees.Check-In Process

To ensure a smooth and organized check-in for your guests, please designate a small area close to the entrance of your home. This will be used to welcome attendees and verify their tickets. Only guests who have purchased tickets will be provided with your address via email.

Culinary Contributions: Elevate with the Perfect Fare

Each Member Home Wine Party operates on a pitch-in basis for wine and food, allowing for a diverse and delightful spread. As the host, you can choose the type of food to be featured at your gathering. To ensure attendees receive accurate information upon registration, make your selection a month in advance. Although hors d'oeuvres are the default option, feel free to get creative:

  • Hors d'oeuvres: Small bites that are easy to eat and mingle with

  • Desserts: Sweet treats to indulge in

  • Cheeses: A variety of cheeses to pair beautifully with wines

  • Charcuterie: A selection of cured meats and accompaniments

Still trying to decide what to choose? Rest assured, all options have proven to be crowd-pleasers at past Events.

Strategic Placement of Food and Wine

When planning the layout for your Event, consider the optimal locations for food and wine within your home. It's advisable to situate these critical elements in separate rooms or distinct areas. This approach encourages a smoother flow of movement and helps disperse the crowd, fostering a more comfortable and interactive social environment.

Ensuring Privacy and Security During Your Event

For areas of your home you'd like to keep off-limits to guests, please place clear notices on the doors marked "Private." Additionally, it's a wise precaution to secure any valuables, including keys, even though we've never experienced issues with this. Exercising a little caution can go a long way in ensuring a smooth and worry-free Event.
